Today I thought I would take a few moments and share some of the most helpful resources I have found along my journey of "deconstructing" and "re-constructing" my faith.

I know that my journey is not like everyone else's journey when it come to leaving a holiness or Pentecostal background, however I still feel moved to share the people and influences I have found so far that have helped me find my feet.

Jennifer Brewer is a former UPCI woman whose story has been the most similar to my own.Finding My Freedom is her blog and her book is called Free. Personally, I have read her book four times in the six months since I purchased it. Reading her book, and the articles I have found on her blog have moved me deeply and truly helped me not only feel heard, but begin to understand all that I have been through with the UPCI faith and teachings.

Responsible Faith on YouTube. Deanna Jo, who makes the videos on Responsible Faith's youtube channel has been one of the biggest influences in my journey. Deanna's videos address modesty, standards, mental health, and even tithes. Deanna looks at topics Biblically, literally, and honestly and delivers her thoughts in clear and easy to understand conversations that inspires and motivates me to learn more.

Natalie (Mayo) Edmonson is my secret soul sister. Berean Holiness is a website created and run by Natalie, her husband, and her brother. Natalie grew up in holiness faith and openly talks about her journey into holiness in the most educated, encompassing, and kind words. Natalie and her team are truly inspirational and make me fall in love with the true meaning of holiness each time I read any literature they write.

Crystal "that is me" on YouTube, is a brand new youtuber that I have recently come across. Crystal grew up in a snake- handling Pentecostal church and openly shares her journey out of it in her videos. I love how Crystal breaks down her studies and shares them in each of her videos and I look forward to seeing her grow!

Divide the Word is both a blog and YouTube ran by Ralph Brickley. Ralph openly shares his journey out of an independent Pentecostal holiness church on both his platforms. I love how Ralph addresses and argues his new faith understandings with scripture and logic. Topic's available through Ralph fall under categories like spiritual abuse, studies of Galatians, arguments for dogmas and standards, as well as studies of what scripture and Hebrew actually mean.

The Spiritual Abuse website is a great place to start for anyone leaving a Pentecostal (especially UPCI) church. Spiritual Abuse website offers hundreds of resources for what the Pentecostals believe, changes in standards, doctrines, and articles written to argue Biblical and moral truths. The people behind Spiritual Abuse.org also run support groups and pages on Facebook and are always sharing new news and resources.

I hope this list grows as more voices come out and share their journeys through finding real faith in Jesus and not in legalistic religions. If you have any additional resources or recommendations, please add them in a comment.
